Here it goes: I am a person who HATES to exercise. I would use every excuse not to go to the gym or participate in any physical activity other than an occasional gym class or dancing on the town! I never had an exercise routine and I always heard my friends experience this "natural high" they receive from it, I thought they were nuts. How could anyone want to put themselves through physical exhaustion? But, eventually, I started to feel like I was not my "best self." I realized that my health should be a higher priority in my life. I started looking for ways to get toned and into shape.
I tried joining an expensive gym and had a personal training consultation there, and even thought of purchasing home videos due to my extremely busy schedule. Nothing worked. I needed someone to really help me and cater to my needs, time schedule, and frankly, my budget. I hoped for someone who would really take the time to teach me how to exercise properly and what foods to eat. Then, my good friend told me about Chris Cianciulli. He is a wonderful trainer!
I have been seeing him twice a week for the last 2 months. Like I said, I hate to exercise but Chris makes the workouts inspiring, humorous, and even fun! I look forward to my sessions with him because of his positive attitude. More importantly, his encouragement and belief in my goal allows me to have confidence that I will reach my "bikini body" that I've been hoping for most of my twenties. I am a tall, curvy woman and when I go to the beach I usually wear cover ups on my buns and thighs. I know that this summer, I will be more confident.
Chris really cares about his clients and this is something you feel the moment getting started. I know three other girlfriends of mine that train with Chris and have gotten amazing results.
I would highly recommend Chris Cianciulli. If you are serious about getting in shape, losing weight, toning up, and feeling your best, Chris is the guy to help you do it!

2. Before training with Chris, I was getting discouraged not...
Before training with Chris, I was getting discouraged not seeing the results I had hoped for. I had heard great things about Chris from other members at South Shore Fitness. So, I watched him training other clients and could see the difference between his technique and training style. I began training with Chris in April, and here I am 6 weeks later, 10 pounds lighter, down a dress size, and loving coming to the gym!
Chris has taught me that fitness isn't impossible. It isn´t even all that difficult, but just takes having a plan. The more results I see, the more encouraged I am to keep on going! Chris is passionate about fitness and it shows through the energy and enthusiasm he brings to every session. He makes each workout challenging, creative and most importantly, FUN!
After working the long hours I do it has always been hard for me to get motivated that late at night to workout. Since working with Chris, he has given me the motivation and strength I needed to change my "e;lazy"e; behavior, and I feel so much better about myself. I have so much more energy now and I have never felt better!!
If you are serious about changing your life for the better, Chris will lead you in every step of the way!

3. Being 54 has been a challenge for me. My hormones are all over...
Being 54 has been a challenge for me. My hormones are all over the place. I have also stopped smoking 7 months ago. Where has my metabolism gone? Good question and if you are in your 50's you will totally understand. This has been a battle and a major challenge for me. My knees were bothering me but Chris has taught me how to get around the pain, strengthen them, and to do squats properly, alleviating much pain in my knees.
I have been training with Chris for the last 5 weeks. I have trained with other trainers but this has been a totally different experience! Chris is very knowledgeable about the body . He totally understands when your metabolism is not moving and offers nutrition advice and foods that will keep you energized and on track.
His training techniques are the best I´ve ever experienced. He works me hard with no machines and no weights, just my own body weight. I walk out of the gym knowing and feeling that I had a great workout.
I enjoy training with Chris very much. He is there to help and answer any of your questions and I know he is an asset to anyone that works with him.

SSF Front Desk staff member Christine Bertram competed in the INBF Connecticut Natural Bodybuilding Competition on June 19th in New Haven, CT. Christine prepared for over six months with SSF Trainers Tommy Florio. This was Christine's first competitive bodybuilding experience and she placed 4th in the Women't Open Cl...ass! Christine lost over 20 pounds and three dress sizes and credits her trainer Tommy Florio for her success!
