About Senior Fitness Program
The National Center for Health Statistics cites that only 32% of seniors over 65 exercise routinely. According to Harvard's National Study of Health and Stress, socialization through exercise is a deterrent to depression and anxiety. Combining an informed, healthy fitness regimen at South Shore Fitness, with community-building among our senior fitness members ensures a fitter and healthier you.
At South Shore Fitness we offer a special discounted membership for our seniors 65 years or older. There is no enrollment fee, there is no long term commitment. Simply pay our low rates, as you go, by the month. (See the rates section for details.)
SENIOR FITNESS CLASSES
Group Senior Fitness Classes are available during senior fitness membership hours on designated days. Classes will be added based upon demand. The senior group class meets during Senior Fit Hours in a private studio and is led by a certified personal trainer with a specialty in Senior Fitness.
Class goals include:

- Increased cardiovascular fitness

Senior Classes are part of your Senior Membership Fee, however you don't need to be a member of the gym to take the Senior Fitness Classes, simply pay by the class.
SENIOR FITNESS PERSONAL TRAINING:
Personal Training is also available during the Senior Fit membership hours if you prefer to work one-on-one with a personal trainer.*
Our trainers will conduct a thorough medical evaluation and fitness profile, will work with you to set your fitness goals, and will continuously evaluate your progress. You don't need to be a member of the gym to do personal training.
